"Building solidarity by unfolding shared experiences" focuses on how one's self-awareness and the sense of solidarity,
within and beyond the LGBTIQA+ community, interplay in the patriarchal society. Hence, the main goal of the project is
to encourage members of the queer community so that they feel empowered to reflect their personal experiences of being
oppressed by patriarchal structures. By doing that this project also enables them to critically asses how they contribute
those oppressive, misogynic structures they might suffer from. Due to the explosion of misogyny in public life, compassion
and unity become more important than ever. For this reason, we need feminist solidarity even more to empower everyone. This
solidarity requires in-person and vivid connections of individuals as a strong foundation. This project aims to bring
together female*-identified people from all walks of life so that they can discover their common experiences while
strengthening the sense of solidarity among them. In order to achieve this, this project will rely on diverse tools of
artistic expression.
In this project, I am planning an exhibition, a theater play, and a series of interviews. I do not want the media and cis,
heterosexual men and women to define me anymore. The aim of my projects is to draw attention to the need for women and
LGBTIQA+ people to define themselves. And this must be accepted by society, as long as it fits into the concept of normality.
(But not the other way around).
