28.07. um 19.00 – The Real Talk 3

“Because each one of us is a statement on its own”

On this episode of the real talk, Collective Mural is opening a conversation on the importance of creating alternative, self-organized FLINTA/BIPOC spaces not only for the enrichment of the cultural and artistic fabric of our communities, but also for the deconstruction of the stereotypes imposed on artists with migrant/post migrant or refugee biographies.

The real talk is a series of panel discussions with Berlin based FLINTA/BIWOC artists, cultural activists and feminists with migration and refugee biographies. The aim of this series is to build together a safe platform on which we share our stories and experiences as refugee and migrant persons who happen to stand on an intersection of social, political and cultural realities.

We dedicate the real talk to discuss different issues from intersectional feminism in a white dominated scene, to obstacles and stereotypes framing refugee and migrant womxn, to social and legal discrimination that’s meant to make our fight more difficult, to self-organized, grassroot empowerment initiatives. We share our narratives on our self-made platforms to celebrate our success despite hardships and show how our emancipation isn't delivered on a silver plate but born from the womb of suffering.
